Hello Mexico. Yeah I have CS3 also. Um ok, well... see the picture on my post of the Benday pattern? You firstly need to save that image onto your computer, then use it in Photoshop as a pattern. It's not a default Photoshop pattern.

Hello from Mexico! Excuse me but can you explain a bit better the Photoshop-Benday-Pattern process? Which version of Photoshop you used? Cus I´m using CS3 and I already selected the Paint-Bucket tool, changed the ‘Foreground’ to ‘Pattern’, but I just can´t find de Benday pattern or how to edit it or add a new pattern :S Thanks a lot and congrats for your work!

Oh man, that's a lot of holes to punch, you have way more patience than me bro! I know what you mean about the screen though, a bit of a pain to use on a large canvas. Let me know if you ever find the paper with pre-cut holes.

One of the ways Iv done it is, You remember when your mom would line the drawers in your kitchen with that Drawer tape? some times its clear some times white and sometimes foggy. Well I painted the color I wanted on the canvas then punch like 5000000 holes of this adhesive paper out and then stuck them to the canvas I then sprayed my background color in and removed the dot stickers. gives a nice prefect circle but so very time consuming. I also have punched holes in colored paper and painstakingly glued each one one. Needless to say I have a silk screen now but I find when working on large canvas its a pain in the ass. I have been searching for paper precut with holes but no such luck. Been to hardware stores for that wood with the holes people use in sheds and workstations, The holes are to far apart makes it like you didn't care about the peace.

If you want an adhesive "paper" with a benday dot pattern just have some vinyl cut by a sign shop with the pattern. It is not the cheapest as you probably cant reuse it, but it will definitely work.

Hey Craig - thank you!
Yep I use acrylics apart from when I've used a Benday-stencil, then I use spray paint which is an enamel. I've got a couple of stencils, one has holes about 4mm in diamater, the other is about 6mm from memory - the screenprint I made also uses 6mm holes. The Photoshop Benday pattern in this post is the same pattern I used to make the screen, so you can save the image and use it as a reference if you want.
But at the end of the day - the size of the Benday Dots really is relative to the overall size of your piece, just do what looks good and you should be right :)

Hi,
Your paintings look amazing! Do you use acrylics?
I am trying to do the same sort of thing and wondered how big the holes on your screen print are? You seem to have them sized perfectly.
Regards,
Craig.
